NUS Extra Card

NUS Extra Card

I am trying to sign up for premium service but it won't accept my NUS Extra card number - keeps saying it's invalid. Just renewed my card as I wanted to take up this offer so very frustrated. Can someone please help sort this out?

same things happening to me 😕

Same problem here. Have emailed via contact form and tried to make contact over twitter and no reply as yet.

I know my card is valid as I have used it elsewhere this weekend.

Hi guys,

Who's your Spotify Star?

Hi, I used the payments contact form yesterday and as yet I have had no reply.
How long does it usually take to get a response?

We do try and respond within 24 hours, so sit tight. We'll be with you as soon as we can.

Glad to know it wasn't just me, as I'd just signed up for my NUS card. Thanks for raising the issue here.

This is not at all helpful - it's just a link to send another message to the so-called 'support' team. I already did this when I first got the problem but so far not reply. In summary, the email bounce-back said 'use this forum' and the forum says 'use the support team'. Going round in circles? You bet. Now how about demonstrating you want some business and get someone with an inkling of customer service knowledge to email me with a solution to what appears to be a simple problem. Do you want my fiver a month or not?

Here's the email I received from Douglas at the Cambridge customer services centre and please note that it refers specifically to the original poster's problem of the page saying "invalid card number":

'Thanks for your email. I'm sorry to hear that you are having this problem, i'll try my best to assist you.

To solve this problem, please try and update your NUS card via a different internet browser. For example if you are currently using internet explorer please try using firefox or google chrome, this should solve the problem.

If you do not have any of these internet browsers please search in google "firefox web browser" or "google chrome"'

... it worked, by the way. I was using Chrome. I tried Explorer (spit).

I had to report the issue with a screenshot to the enquiries@nusextra.co.uk email address to get them to fix it. I was able to upgrade to premium this morning so whatever they tinkered with worked for me.

I tried all three and had the same problem on all of them... 😞

Oh, really? Oh, pooh. I suppose you should try what Bint did.

Totally having the same problem here, tried all 4 of my browsers and all of them say that I have an 'invalid card number'. Spent a good hour trying to fix this problem with no joy, but glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Progress!  Ok still can't work NUS with Spotify but I'm now pretty sure that the problem lies with the NUS card. After talking to someone who had a similar problem they mentioned that as I didn't buy my card online it might not yet be activated. I had a look around and this would make sense...so i tried activating it online ut as far as i can see there is literally no way to do this. If anyone knows how to do this then please leave a comment.

I'll keep everyone posted if I find any solutions 🙂

Hi,

i had this problem myself and spent ages trying to find out what was wrong.

anyway, on the page it says you are already logged in to your spotify and to type in your NUS extra card number. I tried signing out and back in to spotify from this page and this seemed to do the trick. I didnt put any spaces on the card number.

Hey,
It wouldn't work for me the first time so I switched browsers and I was pasting my number in, mainly to be quicker; it still wouldn't work.
I then typed the number out manually in a different browser and voila, it worked.
I don't know if this'll work for anybody else but it certainly worked for me.
Hope this helps 🙂

[also I know this is an old thread but this returns first on google]

The different browser (explorer not chrome) and typing in the full number (rather than using copy and paste) technique worked for me.
