Offline Mode Data Usage?

Offline Mode Data Usage?

Hey there, I have a quick question about offline mode. I have premium, and want to use the offline mode for a flight I have later today. However, I was wondering how the offline mode works with your data. I have 500 songs currently started on spotify and only 1 Gb of data left on my iPhone. So I was wondering if the offline mode takes up any space on my phones drive space. Thanks 🙂

You will need an internet connection to use Spotify.

For example this is eactly how it works for me:

1) Enter aircraft

2) Place phone to "airplane mode" and then turn it off right before take off

3) Once "fasten seatbelt" sign is turned off you can use the electronics. Turn on phone and load spotify

4) At this point Spotify PROMPTS YOU TO LOGIN TO FACEBOOK

If you are in aircraft without WiFi you can not use Spotify! If you are in aircraft with WiFI, the cost of WiFi access is greater than1 month of Spotify premium service!

Not quite.

If you have Spotify Premium then you can select playlists to be available for offline listening. However to allow this they of course have to be stored on the phone - once you tell Spotify to make a playlist available offline it needs to be downloaded (over wifi or 3G) and then you can set the Spotify app to Offline mode and no data of internet connection is required

Yes that is correct and I did alll that and have the premium.

The issue is Spotify is simply not compatible with aircraft. If you switch off the phone and switch it back on Spotify REQUIRES online access to login, there is no such "remember login" option. Despite the music is on the phone it can not be used if there is no online connection because a login to Spotify is required after each time the phone is switched back on. In the aircradt you are instructed to switch off ALL ELECTRONICS DEVICES during take off, this is a global standard and Spotify knows it.

Odd. Spotify has never asked me to re-enter my login details after rebooting the phone.

But, honestly, how many people actually switch off their phones when the airline tell them too? Especially if they are planning on using it during the flight for music or whatever. Just switch it to aircraft mode and put it in your pocket until that seatbelt light goes out and you're allowed to use it - no need to actually switch off!

It's probably again another issue that only exists for the poor folk who didn't sign up before Spotify sold out to Facebook.

As much as I dislike facebook there is no "remember login" option when I attempt to login with "Spotify device password."
