Trying to change my password on my Spotify Premium Account

So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

It sounds like you have accidentally created a duplicate account. Can you try the steps provided in this thread?

If it doesn't solve your issue, I can escalate this to the spotify staff to have a look into for you 🙂

I have deleted the extra account that was created. You should be OK now.

" Another account is already registered with this email address" message when I try to change email preferences. Please correct this - I do not wish to receive messages when someone on facebook adds a song to their public playlists.

Also, I do not have spotify linked to facebook anymore and it's creepy that I am still receiving friend's facebook acitivity updates over email.

Hi aakash81 - You've also made a duplicate account via Facebook.

I've gone ahead and removed that extra FB account for you. Give that password reset another try.

I am pretty sure I never signed up using Facebook.

There was a second account, created with Facebook details. I have deleted that account now.

I have the same problem when attempting to update my email preferences.

Also - my email preferences already say "Never" in all cases, but I still get email spam increasingly - so I guess I have that as a problem as well as the duplicate account.

Any users with this issue have mostly likely created an extra account via Facebook. 

@chicagogrooves - This is also why you're still receiving emails. That other account has different email settings.

I think I also have the duplicate Facebook account problem. Would you be able to delete the FB duplicate for me too please?

I've been trying to change my email notification settings and keep getting the message:
