So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

OK, so I updated my credit card information (it expired) on my Spotify account, but in order to complete it, it is asking for my password. I have no idea what my password is. I cannot reset my password, because the email address that is associated with my Facebook account no longer exists. When I try to add an email address in my Facebook "Account Settings" it says that it is sending an email to verify the account, but it never shows up - inbox, spam, or otherwise. I have no way to retrieve my password. I have been DAYS without my Spotify and it seems like an ETERNITY. What do I do now?

My acount is not connected through facebook!
Now it works.
A note: I could log in with my old password until I logged in with my new. Hours after i changed on the webpage.
I was offline but did access the playlists and everything. Now after logging in with the new password, i am not able to log in with the old any longer.
Any users with this issue have mostly likely created an extra account via Facebook.
@chicagogrooves - This is also why you're still receiving emails. That other account has different email settings.

could you, spotify, be so kind and remove my facebook connected account as I only use my original Spotify account and always have. I just now, for the first time, logged in using facebook as I suddenly started recieving emails two weeks ago. I tried to find a way to delete it but don't know where. I don't want to have spotify connected or linked with facebook in any way. thank you.
Hi oakleyjr - We'll need to know the address you're trying to use in order to help here.
I recommend getting in touch via the contact form. That way you don't need to post your personal email on the public forum.

Hi Sprutt-- Yep, you've also made a duplicate account via your Facebook.
I've just removed that for you so you can reset your 'sprutt' password. I recommend heading over to Richard's earlier post about duplicate accounts once you can log in.
Just follow those steps he's outlined to make sure you connect your Facebook and 'sprutt' accounts properly.
Hi BigstickCarpet- Not to worry--I've found the duplciate account you made with your gmail address.
That's now been deleted. You should now be able to change your email without any trouble.
I'm experiencing the same exact problem while trying to edit my account infromation.

I believe I am having the same problem!
I'm trying to change my email address, not my password. When I joined Spotify, I created an account using my old gmail email address. Now I want to use my new Gmail email address instead. However, because I have already paired Spotify to my Facebook account, which uses my new Gmail address, Spotify won't let me change it.
I get the same error as mentioned above, "Another account is already registered with this email address".

kbert - I see you've submitted a message in about this. I've responded to that directly.
itsmejoed - your login details should just be the same you use to log into Facebook. If you've got Facebook open in another tab you should only have to press 'login with Facebook.' Is that not working?
I've also edited out your email address from your post. Best not to have that posted publicly.
I tried to change my password and also reset it explicitely. The desktop client now correctly requires the new password but the website still requires the old password. Please fix so that there is only on password for my account.

Hey Jussi, that sounds like a bit of a strange issue. Would you mind writing into our contact form with some more information so we can investigate? You should only have the one password.
It seems the problem has gone away. Both the desktop client and the website allow logging in only with the new password. Should I still write something into the contact form? I can do if it helps you in any way.
There's no need to if the problem is now resolved.
