Trying to change my password on my Spotify Premium Account

So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

I think this is the same mess I am trying to find my way through.   I don't want my account linked to facebook but it keeps telling me I have to log in thru FB and then it won't let me log in that way either...

Hi, I am receiving the message that another account has already been created for my email address. I was wondering if you could delete that other one. I don't want to log in through facebook, just through other details.

suemom00 - As your account was created through Facebook you should be able to log in with the same email and password. Have you tried resetting your FB password?

If you're still having trouble, send us an email via the contact form. 

pauljaffe -That extra account has been deleted. You should be able to log in with your 'pauljaffe' username without any trouble.

I'm just about to cancel the subscription on my original account if this don't get resolved soon...

i got the same problem then i try to change to same email i use in facebook.

yes. nothing concerning this in my spam folder..
and if the email is anything like what Jude said (onXXXXXXXd@inXXX.com), I might be looking at an account thats under someone els's controle...
Like I said, I'm paying for something that I cant use right now. I'm giving it 4 more days to get it back or I'm quitting..

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

If you are seeing this message then you must have a duplicate account in the system also registered with that address. This normally occurs when you accidentally have spotify using a spotify account and using Facebook. Just get in touch with the customer services team using the online contact form and they will be able to remove the extra account for you.

Hi!

I've got the same problem I guess. Duplicate account. Please don't remove the account with all the playlists... When I logon with facebook credentials I've only get one playlist.. So please link them right so I can change my password.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to assist you further with this.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.
