Remove Barstool Sports’ podcasts from Spotify due to abusive and offensive content by owner Dave Portnoy and other Barstool hosts. Spotify’s terms and conditions prohibit content the principal purpose of which is to incite hatred or violence against people because of their race or religion, [i] or that is offensive, abusive, defamatory, threatening, obscene, or advocates or incites violence. [ii] “Posting any such Objectionable Content may result in immediate termination or suspension of your Spotify account,” according to Spotify’s Terms and Conditions of Use. [iii] Barstool podcasts currently available on Spotify call on Barstool followers to “attack” a critic online, threaten to “meme you to death” if you “say something mean to us,” state that Colin Kaepernick is “an ISIS guy” and looks like “a terrorist”, and make the N-word an episode title. These examples are detailed in the attached, which is not an exhaustive list. Review Barstool’s podcasts, website and affiliated twitter handles for other examples.
