My Question or Issue

It's a few weeks that spotify is giving me the same poblem: I download the app, it works for a few days and after that it does not play any more song. It keeps skipping songs without stopping and without playing them. I also can't search for specific songs or artists.

It has been happening for a while, I tried to restart my phone and to install the app again but nothing's working..

Just to confirm, does this only happen on your phone or on other devices as well? If it's only happening in your phone, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account in it to see if they can replicate this behavior? 

 

Also, would you mind giving a different internet connection a go to see if the same happens? If you've been using Wi-Fi, now you can try with mobile data. 

 

Lastly, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your affected devices would come in handy.

Hii!

I'd say the problem occurs just with my account, I tried logging in with my brother's account and there seemed to be no problems.

With the computer I usually have no problem of sorts. 

And I don't think it's the connection because I have the same problem both with wifi and mobile data.

My device is an android, Huawei P30lite and I use the newest version of spotify

Thanks for your response.

 

Does logging out of your account and logging back in fix the issue temporarily for you? If yes, then the issue isn't necessarily account-related and it's a good idea to check any battery- or memory-optimization settings on your phone and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception in them.

 

If not, then please try to find any patterns in the behavior like playing specific playlists and let us know which artists and tracks are not coming up in the search results as you mentioned in your first message.

Usually if I install again the app it works, but I actually never tried to simply log out and log in again.

As of now it's started working again, it never did that... 

The problem in searching occurs with everything, every song or author. Only the Radios Playlist appear but the music doesn't start.

I'll try to keep an eye out for patterns I guess...

Since this behavior is 'fixed' for a while after you reinstall, then it could be caused by corrupted cache.

 

Just to be on the safe side, please make sure that you've gone over a clean reinstall which is a bit more detailed. It helps resolve different performance issues and you can take a look at the steps here (if you're using an SD-card I recommend that you remove it before the reinstall).

 

When it comes to not being able to search for content, let us know if this issue goes away after the reinstall. 

 

Keep us updated on the behavior and we're here if anything else comes up in the meantime.
