Spotify tries really hard to get music available on their service, but in the end the availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.

Would love to have this song on Spotify.  It was from a movie soundtrack originally which might be why it’s not available

Spotify haven't "worked hard to get music on the service" in this case - I want to see an email chain contacting the record label to release the track...

Any update here? The only version of Michael McDonald Sweet Freedom on Spotify is a live version, that isn't nearly as good as the original!
