My Question or Issue

I could not find a better place for this question. When I load rocket league on my Xbox the music is working in game, as soon as I open the Spotify app it does not work. How can I fix this. I’ve deleted both Spotify and rocket league and restarted my Xbox multiple times. I’ve done everything it’s as soon as Spotify opens/closes it works/doesn’t work. I’ve tried other music apps like Apple Music and Amazon Music and they work with the in game music. I’d prefer to keep using Spotify but if it comes to it I’d lose it over this if I can not get the help. Thank you

Let’s try a few things that might help with this kind of behavior on Xbox:

First, check the Chat mixer settings. Go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Additional options > Chat mixer, and make sure it’s not set to “Mute all other sounds”. If it is, switch it to “Do nothing”.

Then, while you have both Spotify and the game open, press the Xbox button on your controller to open the Guide. Highlight the Spotify tile, press “A”, and check the volume slider at the bottom. Make sure it’s not pushed fully toward the music side.

It’s also a good idea to do a clean reinstall of Spotify on your console. You can clear the cache by going to My games & apps > Apps > Spotify > press the menu button > Manage app, then clear the local saved data. After that, uninstall the app, restart your Xbox, and install Spotify again.
