App disappears from programs list

Solved!

App disappears from programs list

Hey!

Debian / Gnome here.

After installing Spotify, evething looks like it should be, but after reboot Spotify disappears from applications list. I can still start it from command line and everything works fine, but nothing in applications list, thou I even added it to favourites.

I'm not a specialist in Gnome, but I assume that it should create spotify.desktop file in /usr/share/applications/ ? Nothing there.

Any ideas?

Well, it seems that the problem is that somewhy installation does not create spotify.desktop file in Debian 9 / Gnome 3.22.2.

I created one myself with this as content:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Spotify
GenericName=Music Player
Comment=Listen to music using Spotify
Icon=spotify-client
Exec=spotify %U
TryExec=spotify
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Qt;Audio;Music;Player;AudioVideo
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/spotify
