Hello Spotify users,
This thread is for the community who have been selected to test the new web player design.
I've noticed that there is a great change probably hinting at spotify getting rid of some features and adding new ones. It is very important that the users of spotify give feedback to these new changes.
FEATURES TO CONSIDER:
- Save feature needs to be added. The save feature needs to be added back on albums and singles.
- Interactive profiles. Profiles arent interactive anymore. I seen the riddence of public playlists on profiles and what artists users are listening too. It would be nice to actually improve the profiles picture and make contacting and connecting to other users easy.
- Make accessibility to playlists and customization to playlist easier. Because of the new bulky UI it is hard to find what you're looking for.
- Make the UI less bulky-- the colors are nice, the design is nice, but it would be easier if it was efficient. The UI is too bulky, like the songs get overcrowded when listening to an album or playlist.
Any more feedback, ideas, questions, and/or comments are welcomed. If you are a visitor, it is nice to see your feedback as you will be using this UI or help develop it. 🙂
THE NEW WEBPLAYER:
Please, like I said, leave feedback, ideas, questions, and/or comments. They are all welcomed.

Solved! Go to Solution.
I'm so sorry that this is going so badly for you, but this isn't working for any of us so yeah.
I also don't like that if you go to play an artist you have to actually click on the albums, that bothers me because I like to scroll and just play random songs by my favorite artist.
I don't like the new layout look I liked when you search for someone it would display options on the left. And I liked my playlist on the left. I much rather have the player be on the right not at the bottom. I do not like at all that you took away the option to view profiles, playlists made by artists. I cannot search people you are only giving the search option just by artist, album,or playlist. It is taking away the enjoyment factors of using spotify, and your making it a whole lot less accessible. I am very dissatisfied, and will be less likely not to be using Spotify until you change it back the way it was for most of the reasons I stated in what I do not like about Spotify changes.
Yeah I was pretty bummed out about the missing Adding songs in the play queue feature from before.
Spotify has so huge aged user database now after so many years and the thought of it makes sense for the new UI ... "Now our users will have presbyopia, myopia, shaky hands, not good memory, not good hearing. Let's help them by removing complex services and making it more simple."
I agree, I can't listen to any of my music anymore!!
I really don't like it, I can't play any of my music anymore and it's really glitchy now. You never know when it will work and when it won't, I liked the old format way better.
@rempes If that was the case they shouldn't make it so it effects everyone, they should make it as a setting that is changeable. Or they should make a new app altogether.
I really hate the new user interface web player layout. And what happened to the add to queue feature when you right click? You've slashed too much and I dislike navigating through the new web player.
Can you add a feature to let users use the old web player?
make it scrobble to last fm
No last.fm, no spotify...
Yeah, queue and Last.fm scrobbling seems to be the functionnalities that people want to get back as soon as possible. I don't understand why Spotify doesn't add it in the new player when it was coming back. If we can know when these features will be added, a lot of people will probably be reassured. Otherwise, people will know it once for all and do what they should go.
Terrible change, too little amount of information on the screen, harder to navigate.
The old design has so nice with the stacking pages that you could easily go back from.
Please go back to old design, if you dont I will be cancelling my subscription.
THIS SUCKS I HATE THE WHOLE THING REMINDS ME OF A MYSPACE PAGE FROM 2005
I see that the player has switched back to open.spotify.com again, without any of the major changes requested on this page being addressed. I am currently masking my user-agent to that I can continue to access play.spotify.com (the previous UI).
If Spotify eliminates access to play.spotify.com without addressing all of the many regressions in functionality with the new UI, I will be cancelling my premium account.
Did anybody have a problem with making a queue?
Hi everyone.
I must say I'm verry happy about Spotify, thanks for everything. But since the update I'm all tormented, it isn't as much as a pleasure to go on the Spotify Web Player.
For many reasons:
-So much informations disappeared or became harder to find. The year of an album or single vanished to the bottoms of the tracklist, to me it's crucial to know the year of what I'm listening to, for musical culture.
We can no longer see the listen count to a song, this feature is also crucial to me and I'm sure Im not the only one.
-Disproportion problems.
Everything is so much more zoomed in the tracklist, I was able to see like 20 tracks with my resolution, now only 11, it makes understanding and scrolling trhough playlist so annoying.
And on the other side the whole set of info of the track currently being played (Track name + Artist + Album cover) is so tiny it's almost ridiculous.
It makes me so sad that the artwork has to be so small, it's very important to identify things once again (what does it not show, for instance, where the name of the playlist and the 4 artwork of the first 4 songs show? What's the point of having a GIANT space for 4 artwork of 4 songs that aren't the one being played, and having the one being played so small.)
-The text displayed as the name of the page.
Before, the page displayed the name of the song, and if the name was short you were also able to see the band's name. Now all we got is the name of the playlist or the album we are listening to.
When I was browsing I was happy to get to know the name of the track every time this one changed, now that we hadn't this info anymore I need to go check myself on the page every time the song changed, it is so annoying.
As the "4 first artwork of the playlist" thing, why display so much the name of the playlist/album? It is so much less important than the name of the tune we are hearing at the moment.
-The album section no longer has a way to sort album.
It's all alphabetic order and that's it. I can no longer sort albums by date added, which was the only one mode I used. I want to see what albums I've listened to recently and what albums I've put aside for future listening.
-Not being able to add a track to a playlist from just the track being played itself.
Before we could just click on the "..." that was on the album artwork and add it to a playlist. Now the only option available is to add this on My Music, if I want to add it in a playlist I need to find where the track originally is, it is not convenient or pleasant.
TL;DR: This update feels like a loss of info (year of the music, listen count, name of the track displayed as the name of the page, which saddens me a lot).
And highlighting the wrong kind of info (the name of a playlist or album, the first 4 artwork of the playlist) while we have really useful and constant changing infos displayed way too small: name of the track being played and his artwork.
I hope someone will read this through and that the new UI will fix things in the near future, or at least give us a way to go back to the old UI.
If it let me play anything it might be nice...........Who needs to be able to listen to music on a music player.
Do you know if there is still a Play Queue? Because I really like that, and it helps me see what songs come next, and gives me a bit more control. Please get back at me if you know any option to turn this on! Thanks
