My Question or Issue
I just updated the Spotify's snap, and the window bar is like in the attached image.
I think someone forgot to add something in the snap, because the size is smaller than the older version where the window bar works, 1.2.74.477.g3be53afe.
Thanks, this worked a treat on Fedora.
sudo snap revert spotify
snap refresh --hold=forever spotify
This will revert Spotify to stable 89 version and block future updates
good music taste btw
Fedora Linux 43 (Workstation Edition)
Wayland
Linux 6.18.16-200.fc43.x86_64
Gnome Version 49
Same issue, Spotify just looks awful. I feel like spotify was too lazy to design a wayland gnome decoration and now it just uses the default.
Does exist any solution if I deleted the snap package?
Go back to this comment to rollback the snap, though I don't share the optimism it'll be fixed in 30 days! Might bump that up a bit.
Fresh version, 1.84, but the problem persists.
I'm having the same problem.
Same issue with the latest flatpak on bluefin (ublue-os/bluefin-dx-nvidia-open:stable, 43.20260312.1).
This has only recently became a problem, it didn't exist in previous builds on gnome at all. The navbar was properly styled before for the 9 months I've used it for till this update.
I resolved the issue using the following commands:
$ sudo snap install spotify --revision=89
This installs the specific revision of Spotify required.
$ sudo snap refresh --hold spotify
This prevents Spotify from being automatically updated, keeping it fixed at that version.
sadly any old versions on flathub are pruned and not longer available.
come on, spotify team! fix this stupid issue!
Folks, please update and confirm that version 1.2.86.502.g8cd7fb22 is working again.
Current version on flathub is `Spotify for Linux 1.2.84.475.ga1a748ff`
So you should wait then. I got the Snap and the .deb package for beta release.
A new version was released (Spotify for Linux 1.2.84.475.ga1a748ff)... and this is still not solved:
1.2.86.502.g8cd7fb22 is it still not working
Strange... I tested in my machine with Resolute, tested in VM also with Resolute and another one with 25.10. I didn't test in 24.04, though.
