My Question or Issue
Autoplay had disappeared some time ago on desktop and came back last week after an update (app updated to v1.0.92). On Friday last week I noticed that autoplay was missing again. Upon checking the version, I found that it rolled back to v1.0.89 (1.0.89.313.g34a58dea to be specific). I checked the Ubuntu software store, and Snap, and all of them had the same 1.0.89 version. I then checked on an Ubuntu virtual machine (Ubuntu 18.04) sitting in the Netherlands, and Spotify also showed up as v1.0.89. On a Windows 7 virtual machine running on my own computer (which is running Ubuntu 18.04) I installed Spotify, and found that it was on the newest version that has autoplay back.
At this point, it seems as if the issue is only with the Linux version of Spotify having been rolled back. Are there any plans to update the desktop version again soon? The autoplay is a feature I heavily rely on when I have to do any kind of work on my computer.
Solved! Go to Solution.
1.0.92.390 was rollbacked from snap stable channel because it crashed whenever trying to play local files.
A fixed version 1.0.93.238 will be released to snap stable channel soon. You can try it already if you change channel of the spotify snap from stable to candidate like this:
snap refresh --candidate spotify
So if anyone else is experiencing the same issue, I found a place where one can download the .deb files.

Upon further inspection, running v1.0.92 from the URL above is very buggy. It seems to run a lot buggier than the actual update did that came through Snap/Ubuntu Software Store.
