Switch Snap package to Flatpak or AppImage

Switch Snap package to Flatpak or AppImage

The unofficial Flatpak has been solid for me, but it's unofficial, so there is inherent risk.

I understand why the one repo would be Debian/Ubuntu, but if you're also going to provide an upstream package, it would be nice if it was either a Flatpak, or AppImage. A lot of users of other distros, and even many Ubuntu users, don't use Snap. And the fact that there is a Deb/Ubuntu repo has that side covered, so an official Flatpak, or even better, AppImage would be much appreciated.

Not the end of the world, I know, but just how I would have gone about it.

Hey @gordonzed91

That’s a good idea. You should post it in the Idea Submissions forum and it may be considered for future versions of the app.

Just be sure to check out if the idea is already there. If it's not, submit it after reading the idea submission guidelines. 🙂

I saw this thread and noticed that this idea had not been created in the "Idea Submissions" forum so I created a posting HERE .

Please vote/like it or comment on it with any additional ideas to raise awareness of this. Hopefully we can get a verified flatpak option for future releases.

Awesome. I clearly wasn't aware there were even replies until now, so thanks for picking up my slack. Will give it a vote now.
