My Question or Issue

I cannot log into Spotify on my laptop. Repeatedly get an auth2 error code. I’m logged in fine on my iPhone and iPad so I don’t know why my account is not being recognized.

Did it start recently or was it always like that?

 

Anyway, my first suggestion is that you clear Spotify cache and cookies (if using a browser). Try logging in via an incognito/private window. Alternatively, try a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

 

Also, reset network and DNS cache (for the desktop app). Open Terminal and run:

  • sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

  • Restart the system.

Oh, and if you’re using a VPN, try turning it off and check if your firewall or antivirus is blocking Spotify.
