In-app notifications stay on screen indefinitely if Spotify window loses focus

My Question or Issue

The new in-app notifications that show when you take an action (ex: liking or un-liking a song) seem to be on a roughly 5 second timer before they dismiss. However, this timer seems to pause if you move focus to another app, causing them to stay up indefinitely in the Spotify window. A screen recording is attached where I first Like a song and keep the mouse cursor in Spotify, and then Un-Like it, and move my mouse and click another app to change focus.

Hey @swrobel

I recently have been experiencing this same issue in the Mac app.

During my testing, it looks like this issue might be fixed in the upcoming version 1.2.24

Once you get the new update (which should be within the next 2 weeks or so) please let me know if you are still experiencing this issue or not.

Hey @swrobel,

Thanks for reaching out!
The video perfectly shows the described behaviour. However, we couldn't reproduce it on our end.
This makes me believe it might be a local issue on your end, so we can try fixing it with some local troubleshooting 🙂

Try going through all the listed steps for a complete clean reinstall of the app. This will ensure there are absolutely no leftover files from previous installations interfering with the app's functionality. If all goes well, the issue should disappear afterwards.

Keep us posted on how things go! 🙌🏼

Unfortunately the behavior is still the same after following the clean reinstall instructions. Are you sure that you focused another app immediately after clicking the Like button in Spotify when testing this?
