Solved!

Installer stuck + Eats RAM to infinity.

The most recent Spotify Installer for Mac gets stuck at 'Installing Spotify', and keeps eating RAM. I left it for a good 30 minutes, and by that time it occupied more than 28 GBs or RAM.

Happens everytime for me.

For some reason while installing i get Spotify (old).app AND Spotify (old 2).app populating the Applications folder. Force quiting the installer and manually remove Spotify (old).app and Spotify (old 2).app and the use the installer again works for me.

Don't know if you have the same issue.

Your issue seems to be identical. I too had two Spotify (old) versions. Deleting those and trying again worked just fine. Thank you!

Oddly enough the newly installed version is also marked as (old) for some reason, but works just fine.
