macOS application automatic start NOT desired

My Question or Issue

I do not want the Spotify app to start automatically, when I log in or restart my computer. The application is not on the list

System Preferences → Users & Groups → Login Items

but it still starts automatically during the login process, as if it were on that list. 

How can I disable the automatic start of the Spotify app?

A similar question has been asked under the title

«Automatic launch on startup»

more than 2 years ago, but the advice given there was so primitive, that the initiator of that thread apparently did not bother to continue.

Let’s get that fixed for you! Could you head to: “Spotify > Preferences” and change the setting for this under “Startup behavior”? That should help here! Let me know how you get on!

I have overseen the «Startup and Window Behaviour», or, rather, I thought that «Startup» refers to the start of the application, not of the OS. 
A clearer rephrasing of that heading would not go amiss.
