Connect to a device error

Connect to a device error

I'm encountering this problem where my Desktop Spotify App won't sync with any of my devices; however, if I use the web version of Spotify, it shows all my devices (the window on the left is the Desktop App and the one on the right is the Web-based version).

In addition, if I play a song from the web version, it won't show on the Desktop App. I can play 2 different songs at once, basically.

Is there any way to fix this?

I hope Spotify mods respond to this thread because I am having the same issue. My iPhone iOS 13.6.1 (Spotify app 8.5.73) and Apple Watch Series 5 watchOS 6.2.8 will recognize or connect to the Desktop app while playing music, however instantly connect the web player.

Did you already try a clean reinstall of the Desktop app in case some features need refreshing or updating?

 

Give it a go and let us know what happens after 🙂
