On collaborative playlist there is no verification of duplicate songs, so two different people can add the same one, which will double

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

 

You should be able to see the notification when you try adding a duplicate to a Collaborative playlist

 

In this case, we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your PC to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.  

 

If that doesn't do the trick, could you let us know if this is happening across devices or only on your PC?
