My Question or Issue

After the last received upgrade to Spotify, I get a persistent error message saying "There is no diskette in the drive. Enter a diskette in the drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1."

I have tried a clean reinstall twice, but the message persists. Any known explanation for this?

The 'A' part was enough: As soon as I disabled "Show songs from - iTunes" I could click away the error message, and it did not return (as long as I did not reenable the same choice).

This could mean that the source of the trouble lies in an iTunes upgrade, but maybe only to become visible with the last Spotify upgrade - that's a guess.

Hey @johnbreak

This is a strange error, but there are a few tricks you can try to get rid of the issue. 🙂

A. Try disabling Local Files to see if the issue gets cured. Go to Spotify, click on upper-left three dots - Edit - Preferences and go to "Local Files" section.

B. The registry edit (which hides the error message).

1. Go to Start > Click On Run > Type "Regedit" > Click OK
2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\
3. Change the value of the ErrorMode key to 2. Right-click on the key and select Modify. Enter '2' in the Value Data column.

Be careful though, fiddling with the Registry is pretty much equal to brain surgery. 🙂

Let me know how it goes 🙂
