Help! Media Keys Not Working WIth Win 10 Spotify App

Plan - Premium

Country - Canada

Device - Lenovo M900x Tiny

Operating System - Windows 10, latest version, fully updated

My Question or Issue - I use an MS Comfort Curve 2000 v1.0 keyboard and the forward / back media keys will not work with the Win 10 app. The play / pause, volume up / down and mute buttons do work though. There is no official Window 10 drivers for this keyboard and I tried to do forced updates in Device Manager which said the latest / greatest were already installed. Any ideas why the media system is only partially working?

Hey @camdanvan

Might be a weird question, but are you running Google Chrome and if so, have you recently updated it?

If this is all the case, please do the following:

Open Google Chrome and visit the following page:

chrome://flags/

Type 'media key' in the search box. The following flag is displayed now.

Hardware Media Key Handling

Enables using media keys to control the active media session. This requires MediaSessionService to be enabled too – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS

#hardware-media-key-handling

Alternately, go to this URL to navigate to the option directly.

chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling
  1. Set Hardware Media Key Handling option to Disabled
  2. Restart Google Chrome.

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I have and it's disabled...but no effect. 😞

this is both for Chrome and the new Chrome powered Edge from MS. set to disabled.
