My Question or Issue

holding down space while listening to a song causes it to freak out when you stop.

Well, I agree that would make a lot of sense; funny thing is I tested this on a few different media players and web services, and it turns out most of them seem to exhibit the same behavior as far as the alternating play/pause command, although this does seem to cause more lag (at least for me) in Spotify than, say, Windows Media Player. Anyway, you might submit an idea here suggesting the shortcut function in the way you've described.

Welcome to the community, and thanks for your post! The spacebar functions as a shortcut to play or pause your music when Spotify is open, and it looks like all that's happening if you hold down the button is that it's basically giving the program alternating play and pause commands over and over, and so it takes a few seconds for Spotify to catch up after you've done this, but it should get back to normal. That said, I would definitely recommend just tapping the space button once if you're trying to use it to play or pause your music rather than holding it down for an extended time, and there shouldn't be any issues. Hope that helps!

Shouldn’t it just pause or play once instead of doing it multiple times.
