How do I find the "Your Daily Mix " on a Laptop/PC?

I noticed the "Your Daily Mix" lists that get presented to you when you use the cell phone app, but I don't see on the full desktop application on my laptop. Can someone tell me where I can find these when using the applicaiton on a Windows laptop?

Thanks,

Hey there folks,

Thanks for posting about this here in the Community!

On the desktop app, you can find Your Daily Mixes in Your Library under Made for You.

For more info about Daily Mixes, we'd recommend taking a look at this support site article.

Keep in mind that if you're new to Spotify, it might take a bit before you see your Daily Mixes. There's more information about this at this Spotify Answer.

If you're having troubles seeing them on the desktop app, you can also check this Spotify Answer for some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Hope this helps! Don't hesitate to give us a shout if you'd like more help.

Easiest solution to save entire Daily Mix Playlist: Open the playlist on your phone, then play it on your computer (like everyone else said) - now, in order to save all the songs (instead of 1-by-1 via mobile), click the "hamburger"-icon (queue) next to Lyrics - drag&drop all songs in queue to a playlist and enjoy ANYWHERE.

"Extremely inconvenient", really?

You need to find more important things to care about & be bothered by.

It's really disappointing, but now that I think about it, because Spotify is so incredibly connected, you could probably select the daily mix from your phone, then choose the desktop to play it.

 Why not add it?

Well, they are Daily Mixes. They are constantly updating. See the below link on how it works:

Spotify,

I think you are loosing focus on what is really  important. It is software first and then content... I do not care about contents, I can find any content that I want to if I really want to.  And even more importantly - your algorithms for personalized plays list had already proved that I can enjoy music from an artist that is known to only 100 people as much as the most popular artist out here. And this is simply great.

The only reason I am using spotify and paying for it is because it solves a problem for me - it is able to find me a music that I like without me losing hours of searching , listening, bookmarking etc.. Thus  features like "Discover Weekly" and the new one "Daily mix" are really crucial and in fact is  the only reason I pay and use the service.  The above features work really, really well. Therefore missing those feature on the desktop client is like having no desktop client...  This is even missing from the web player...

This is not the first time you omit the desktop applications.. But guess what, there are people that still use something different than a phone.. Right now I am so frustrated that I would go ahead and click unsubscribe If there was only an alternative.. (I can not consider anything from apple as alternative). But someday there will be, and if you continue omitting the small things, you will be just one of the many streaming services outhere... Everyone will implement an algorithm for personalizing plays list but many will not have excellent windows/ios/android and web clients.

I love Spotify, but I really don't understand some of the ridiculous decisions this company makes sometimes. Why would this feature only be available on phones? Would it really be that difficult to add it to the desktop app?

Really...why introduce a new playlist feature and NOT have it available on ALL apps, mobile, desktop or otherwise?

Makes absolutely no sense.

Would you rather it weren't released yet for the phone? I'm sitting here at work listening to spotify on my phone instead of my laptop so that I can use this new feature. As a software developer working at a small startup and trying to deliver new features that users want, while wasting as little time on new features they don't, I can see why this wasn't rolled out across the board all at once.

Often, you aren't sure whether a new feature will be used. You want to get it in the hands of customers ASAP to get feedback. In this case, the new daily mixes is pretty well received I believe. As a result, I suspect they will continue to add it to other Spotify clients. If the new daily mixes were terrible, they would have found this out before wasting time adding it to all the different clients capable of consumingh Spotify.

Contrast this with the way Spotify transitioned away from "likes", which was poorly done in my opinion. In that case, they removed a number of use cases with no replacement. I do appreciate how they listened to user feedback and fixed the issues I had with it quickly.

This is a pretty ridiculous notion. Spotify switched to a web-based platform a while ago, *exactly* to be able to develop crossplatform and dodge these issues. I really can't fathom why the keep the feature locked down while it's supposed to be a couple HTMLCSSJS tweaks at most. If it's more work than that the rewrite was essentially useless in the first place.

"As a software developer working at a small startup"

But Spotify AREN'T a small startup, they're a multibillion dollar company, and their millions of paying subscribers should have access to all features on all platforms where they use this service. You're making it sound like Spotify only employs one developer and they can't afford to have people simultaneously making updates to versions of the app on every platform.

People aren't paying for Spotify because it's the only streaming service available and we should be happy with whatever they give us. We pay for it because we like it more than all of the other streaming services, and decisions like this one aren't going to make their customers very happy.

This comment is hilarious to me. You talk like you actually know. I work for one of the biggest and most popular start up apps in the country. Our app connects millions of people together and has millions of subscribers and we still have issues with development. Just because an app has money doesn't mean that you can blink your eyes and boom, all the features you want happen. There is planning and time that goes into every update and change. Take a second to think before you speak. The biggest way to see change is to do it yourself. If you're so adamant about having the features you like, don't complain about them but maybe join the company and make a real difference.

Exactly. I wasn't really getting bent out of shape over one feature. It's the way Spotify treats its users requests. They don't care what we explicitly want. They think they are geniuses who know what we want better than ourselves. I don't pay for Spotify to be an unfinished experiment, I pay in the hopes of getting what I want.

Music artists hate you. Musixmatch hates you. Your CRO hated you so bad that he left. No one wants to take you public because you are overvalued and your business model's sustainability is questionable. Whats left to keep inflating your ego? Your subscriber count? Not for long. Give users what they want and stop getting in your own way.

Again, is it better to have the new daily mixes on the phone now, or not have them until support is added to all Spotify clients, including smart TVs, roku, etc?

Businesses which function like you are suggesting, large or small, fail.

Then why do we see so many other features rolled out simultaneously on multiple platforms by so many other companies? It's really not as uncommon as you seem to think to have new features available to everyone at once. I understand it's cheaper for Spotify to do it this way, but we're not paying to have them do things the cheapest way if it means having a lower quality of service. They have the money and the manpower to develop this on all platforms at once. There's just no excuse to roll it out on one at a time.

Spotify works for us, not the other way around. We're the ones who allow this company to exist by giving them our money, and as much as I enjoy seeing them succeed, I still expect to be given the best level of service for my money. Doing things this way isn't in the customers' best interest. Take my money, but don't put the bare minimum back into the company.

Hi,

Do you know when this will be rolling out to the desktop apps? Seems a little odd to go mobile-only.

Thanks!

Hey @jmbehrens - at this stage there's no date set in stone, but fingers crossed it'll happen soon! You can give this idea a like on the Ideas Exchange to show your support: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Desktop-Daily-Mix-on-Desktop/idi-p/1426006

Do you know if there is some reason for this or is it just the way the set it up? It seems odd that it is not available on all platforms.

Hey @olaorun67,

It's the way it's set up, but why - that is something I don't know as well 😛
