Loading window only when Spotify starts (PC)

Hello,

I have a problem. When I enter my Spotify application I only have loading screen with circle moving around (check on screenshot). I can wait like that for 20-30? minutes and still nothing happens. Login window does not appear.

 

1. Yes, I restarted my PC.

2. Yes, I completely uninstalled Spotify (including temp and cache files) and installed it again.

3. I was able to login on my wife's laptop and everything works fine (the same public IP).

4. I was able to login from my smartphone from external IP (GSM) or my router's public IP (home wifi).

 

My PC's OS is Windows 10 64bit.

I appreciate any help.

Hello, it sounds like something is blocking a connection to spotify. Did this issue arise randomly or was it never working on your home PC? If it always has been like this it might be a firewall rule or a registry rule that is blocking connections to Spotify servers. Another quick troubleshoot method is to connect to a free VPN service and try launching Spotify and see if that works, if it does then it would seem to be a local network problem.

Hello.

It happend today for the first time. I checked all firewall rules and there is nothing that could block Spotify. VPN did not help (I was proxied in Lithuania).

 

I sniffed traffic on my router in any direcitons for all interfaces:

I scanned ports: 4370, 4371, 4380, 4381, 20007, 57621 and no traffic was passing by for that ports (sniffer works fine and I performed good sniffing rules because I checked for 80 or 443 when I was browsing sites and it brought me desired output). So it looks like Spotify application does not try to connect to anything (or I checked wrong ports). I had no output on sniffer.

Maybe there is some kind of procedure that I have to perform to repair my Spotify application (it is application problem maybe)? I removed it and installed again and it did not help.

 

I performed telnet on my localhost for 4370, 4371, 4380, 4381, 20007, 57621

(I did not know which ports to check so I checked all) and:

 

4380 is always opened (even if application is closed)

4381 is opened only when I start Spotify

rest of the ports are always closed no matter if I open or close Spotify. Also netstat confirms my telnet operations output.

just out of curiosity before this happened did it happen to say there was no internet connection even thought there was one? That happened to me, so i uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but now when i open it, it goes straight to a loading screen and never loads.

There was internet connection before that.

I did not mention one thing (maybe it could be important).

I logged out from my account in application and that whole situation started... Grey screen with loading circle and nothing happens.

Same issue here, just made another post on this. I've tried even more things, including deleting registry keys and such.

 

I even disabled firewall, antivirus, everything, and tried to run it. Still no luck.

 

Hoping for a resolution to this issue too.

I did not found any Spotify files in registry so I assume it was deleted when I uninstalled. I also tried to shutdown antivirus...

 

I am glad that more people write here. Maybe we will get some kind of solution 🙂

same for me but I'm running windows 7 pro at the moment I'm using the web player which works as good as the app for now

Its dead for me too

Its dead for me for over 24h now. I had Spotify playing in my home as usual, and as the next track was about to begin, suddenly: Loadingscreen.

I reinstalled (and cleaned my computer) 5 Times now.

Win 10 x64bit, yes, i had an internetconnection.

Spotify login is working through browser and smartphone.

I think the Desktop app is bugged, hopefully we get a fix soon.

I need my "fix", if you know what i mean.
EDIT: They wrote a message on top: "Hi! We're just rearranging some Desktop boards to make it easier to find what you're looking for. Please bear with us, and we'll be done very soon." maybe thats it ?

I am glad for your answers guys. Let's just wait. We can use website until they fix application. Hope it won't take long.

oh, web application does not work for me now... can't reach open.spotify.com

I have the same issue and i don't know how to fix this.

I am quoting:

 

Go to: Local Disc > Windows > System32 > Drivers >etc > Hosts

 

In Host: Open it with NotePad, remove all the lines without #, all the line who got not "#" removes them and save, 

 

If it doesnt want to save: Just save it in Desktop and remove the original and copy/paste the one who you just saved in the Desktop.
