Solved!

Main Search Bar Issue: Windows 10

Edit: BTW, search bar doesn't work, but I can still search by pressing CTRL+K. That works

Yes, i can agree CTRL + K is helpfull but the solution is to download spotify from microsoft store and you can do it without reinstal.

This is happening to me as well in the US. When typing anything in the search bar, "Something went wrong. Try reloading the page" appears. When you do, it brings you to the home screen. I can search in my liked songs, though.

I have the same issue. Windows 10

Consider trying my solution which updates the app to the lastest version through Help > About Spotify. As of right now, I am using version 1.2.63.x in Windows 10 which solves this isssue.

Or if you still have a problem consider using @Telegraphhill 's solution using CTRL + K to search

same issue here

I am having the same issue on windows 10 (android app works).

I've always updated spotify to the latest version as soon as it was indicated that there is one available, but it seems the update process stucks somehow.
According to the "about" dialogue my version is Spotify for Windows (64 Bit) 1.2.37.701.ge66eb7bc and there is an update available. When I confirm to download + install it, it's acting as normal, restarting the app and I would assume everything is right, but when I check the "about" dialogue again, I am still on the old version and the update didnt't take place.

Clean re-install would mean all my settings will be lost, I assume, so I would prefer if there is another fix tbh 😆

Edit: I just downloaded the latest version from the official website and started the installation, it automatically updated my current version and didn't delete any settings, now the search is working for me again, problem solved.

the same thing happens for me, but I have Windows 11, so it's not only 10

Problem exists. I'm shocked about how Spotify does not react to it! Maybe now it would be the momentum quit my long term customership and swap to some more ethical music streaming platform.

Got the same thoughts... Why is Spotify do not care about this? Maybe
there are too big now getting arrogant. What are the alternatives?

Issue still present. Tried:

- deleting user folder in spotify cache

- deleting entire spotify cache folder

- fresh reinstall (uninstall from software manager, delete spotify cache folder, and search for left files)

CTRL + K search works. Everything works, accessing pages works from main menu, however a single search will completely break the app, unable to access any pages, not even the main menu from any methods.

My Question or Issue

Y'all plan on fixing this? Its ongoing for about a month now

Can't search or browse without getting that "error". it is literally impossible to search for a song, If I try to, it gives me that error and I can't get past that... reload of "page" does precisely nothing.

That's what I see

Yep, still **bleep**ed.

This is not possible if you're on an older OS and the OS can't be upgraded (due to hardware).

Can the search functionality also be fixed on older app versions?

It was fine on the app version I have installed, until it suddenly broke. Must be an issue on Spotify's side, right?

Spotify for macOS (Intel) / 1.2.55.235.g5eaa0904

I can't find the way to check about the version of the app via user interface.

Same here. It worked to mid May and then it stopped working. I too can search with Ctrl+K but if Iclick on search results the page wont load.

Itried resetting, reinstalling latest Verizon of windows client. Nowe, still search won't work.

Windows 10 19045.5854

Client ver 1.2.53.440.g7b2f582a

Found a fix.
tl;dr: No surprise, I had to upgrade. Which I had to do through the Microsoft AppStore. That version works.

The long:
Just noticed this is a problem. When I went to the elipsis (3 dots) top left > Help > about Spotify, it showed I was at an earlier version. I tried selecting the "Download update", it ran for a little bit, then said it had the update and I had to restart Spotify for it to install. So I selected the link to have it restart and install. Spotify restarted, but it never installed.
I tried downloading the latest version of Spotify from their website, but they only redirect you to the Microsoft App store... Luckily, I am able to download and install apps from the AppStore on my home PC. I upgraded via the app store.
This worked, and Spotify upgraded to version Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.65.255.g85e641b4. Now when I search I get results.

@Spotify team, is there a way to download and install Spotify not through the windows app store? Not all systems allow people to use the AppStore. What happened to the days of being able to download executables directly from companies?

Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.53.440.g7b2f582a
Windows 11 Pro 22H2
Clean install, reset app/cache, different connections.

Seemed to be a version issue. Uninstalled the old one, installed new app (Flatpak), there the search bar works OK. Sorry for posting to wrong thread: this was a Linux issue, not Windows 10.
