Hey there folks,

Thanks for all your replies here.

Our tech folks confirmed they've made some changes backstage. Please make sure you're running the latest Spotify version available.

You can check for possible new versions of the app in the three-dot menu that you can find in the left-top of your screen in the desktop app. There, select Help> About Spotify. If there’s a new version available, you’ll see Click here to download. Then, in the same spot you'll see a Please restart to install button.

Afterwards, if you're still experiencing issues, please send us the exact Spotify version you're running.

Keep us in the loop!

My Question or Issue

Guten Tag! Mfg

Hey there @Coper

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.

Hope you don't mind us replying in English as it's the Community's official language.

We'd suggest you first restart the network device (router or modem), log out and log back in to the Spotify app. This should fix the issue you're experiencing.

If that doesn't do the trick, try a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. We recommend this step as it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones. This tends to solve issues with the app's performance. Give your device a quick restart as well before you open the newly installed app.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

Hey there @Coper

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

In case you experience the same with a second account on the same device it's possible that this issue is device-related. It's a good idea to log in to your Spotify account on another device just to check if you observe the same.

If it doesn't occur on a different device, we'd suggest making sure that your original device is up to speed with any software updates available.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Hey,
Ich habe festgestellt, dass ich mich auf anderen Geräten einloggen kann und auch nach Liedern suchen kann. Doch auf diesen Gerät funktioniert es immernoch nicht. Die neusten Updates sind auch schon installiert.

Hey there @Coper

Thanks for getting back to us.

Do you have the possibility to test if you observe the same under a different network?

If it works with another connection, it's best to contact the service provider of the original network for more information. For example, some shared or public networks (e.g. schools/work/office) might restrict access to certain services, which would explain what happened here.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

Guten Tag

Same here 😞 I'm on Spotify v1.2.45 (desktop version)

Hi there @_aylensk_,

Thanks for the reply. We've moved you out into a separate thread, as it would seem your issue isn't quite the same as the others in the original one.

Try performing a clean reinstall if you haven't already. Also test if the behaviour is the same across different networks. If the issue persists, please send us some screenshots or a video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

Let us know how it goes.

My Question or Issue

Just tried moving back to the official app after using a third party one for a while, as the official app was incredibly slow and borderline unusable for me and had been for years. After moving back the app seems much faster, but searching anything at all gives the "Something went wrong, try reloading the page" error. I've done a clean reinstall and this is still happening. Is there any fix for this, or am I just stuck using a third party application?

Exactly the same issue happening since yesterday on Windows 10 Spotify app.

Hello!

Thanks for reaching out. Can you try having a clean reinstall of the Spotify app? This is different than a regular reinstall and can help solve most common issues.

Make sure to let me know how it goes!

@Joan, I did a clean reinstall, but unfortunally, it didn't fix the issue.

As I explained before, the search bar doesn't work, but I can still run a search by pressing CTRL+K. That still works

As you requested, I have attached two videos of the issue.

I hope it will soon be solved 🙂

Hey Jose,

I tried a clean reinstall on my late 2013 iMac (10.15.7) but I still have this problem, I also tried to log out / log in several times.

Any further step to clear this ?

Hey folks,

Many thanks for the reports!

I'm chiming in to let you know that the issue is currently being looked into backstage by our tech folks! We'll keep you posted as soon as there's anything new to share 🙂

Keep in mind that you should still be able to use Ctrl+K to search in the meantime! Cheers 🙌🏼

Hello @tonicflo!

Thanks for your reply.

Can you try logging in with a different account in order to see if there'll be any difference? Maybe you could ask a relative or a friend to log into their account on your device for a bit. Also, does this happen when using the Web Player as well or only on the Desktop app?

Additionally if you're using a VPN keep in mind that this can cause issues with Spotify's performance so I'd recommend trying without it.

Let me know how it goes!

My Question or Issue

Every time I try to search for a song on the desktop the entire program freezes up with a "something went wrong" error and I have to restart the entire app just to access songs, I cannot listen to any playlists if I try to search. Testing On my iPhone 11 and the search feature is fine no issues so its only on my desktop app, I do not have a VPN and have tried restarting the app and PC, logging out, clearing the cache and deleting downloaded playlists nothing seems to fix this issue for me and it is as though my desktop app version is banned from searching as it will lock up the whole app until restarted, once restarted I can only access my already created playlists.
