Manage Spotify song on multiple devices

Manage Spotify song on multiple devices

Hey, I couldn't find anything about this but my wording is probably poor.
I am posting on here about -
when I am listening on Spotify, for this example lest say on my phone. On my desktop I can see what is playing on my phone and even change songs.
When I am on my laptop though I cannot do this. I have two separate instances of Spotify going at the same time and I don't want this. I want the same experience on my laptop that I have on my desktop.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can resolve it?

Hey @NoahTheFletcher,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We moved your post from Chat to the help boards as its content fits better here.

In Spotify, you can use only one device at a time when streaming online. This means that it could be something interfering with this process on your laptop.

First, make sure youโ€™re logged in to the correct account by logging out and back in. If the profile is the correct one, make sure youโ€™re not in Offline mode as this prevents the internet connection and syncing from that device.

In case this was already verified but the issue persists, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but itโ€™s more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

Thanks for the quick response, It is the same account and I am online. I can try a reinstall but I think it might be something specific to the laptop now. If I find out what is causing this I will let you know.

Hi @NoahTheFletcher,
