Off line downloaded playlists, sync between devices.

Hello, despite searches I can't find an answer to this, going either way.

Playlist syncing works Fine, as long as we're talking about the playlists themselves, the metadata.
Local files work, between and android device and my desktop, putting songs in the local files folder.

Not so with Downloaded off line playlists, and I don't know how it's supposed to work even.

If I download an album to my desktop for off line listening, keep my android phone on the same local network, all is fine with switching between devices for listening, go to the same album on my android and click "Download" there as well, is the phone supposed to sync and "see" that the album is already downloaded on the other device which is open and active?
I guess I just presumed as much, that the music data of off line playlists could be synced between devices as well, to save the data plan.

Short story is, it doesn't work for me, with my devices. The music downloads fine, of course, but from the external spotify servers, not locally from the second device on the lan.

Any input appreciated, but first one of course... should this even work? 😄
