For the past like 3 days or so I've noticed that whenever I pause a song it would push the progress bar back like 5 seconds or whatever or it would just reset it to 0 seconds and start the progress bar from there when the song is unpaused. This happens most of the time but there are some times where it doesn't do it. Playback is unaffected and plays back normally where it left off. I am on the desktop app and not the one from the Microsoft Store. I am on Windows 11.
Hi @liquidwater!
Does reinstalling the app have any effect on this? You can also try running the app in Safe Mode with Networking to see if the issue persists there.
Another thing to try out is disabling / enabling the Hardware Acceleration by clicking the three dots in the upper left corner > View > Hardware Acceleration.
Let us know how it goes. Cheers!
disabling hardware acceleration didn't help, but I did try using the web player and still haven't managed to recreate the issue there. It's late at the time I'm doing this so I will wait until later to reinstall spotify and see if that fixes the issue or not.
ok I just tried reinstalling spotify and it has changed nothing.
Hi folks,
Thanks for the inputs so far.
We'd like to look further into this. Could you let us know the following:
As soon as we gather enough information about this we'll forward it to our internal teams who'll investigate further.
Thanks and cheers!
This device is a custom built computer by iBuyPower. My spotify version right now is Spotify for Windows 1.1.84.716.gc5f8b819 and OS is Windows 11 Home Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.613). I've tried reinstalling spotify, I've tried using the web player and I've tried disabling hardware acceleration. None of these got rid of the issue.
Hi there @liquidwater,
Thanks for the reply.
If you're using the app version from the MS store, you can uninstall it and install the app from our website instead, or vice versa. Even though the MS store version is more optimized, it can cause issues on some configurations.
Let us know if this helps.
I'm already using the app from your website.
Hey @liquidwater,
Thanks for the reply.
Does the same issue occur, if you use the app from the Microsoft store?
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
I have not tried the Microsoft Store version, but I have tried the Web Player and it was still having issues there.
Hey @liquidwater,
Thanks for the reply.
Would it be possible to try to replicate the issue with the Microsoft store app? Also keep in mind, that Windows 11 is a quite new operating system and the app may still need some finishing touches to work flawlessly on it.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
