Playbutton's equalizer visualisation keeps moving when the song is silent

Playbutton's equalizer visualisation keeps moving when the song is silent

Hello,

Is it possible to get rid of this equalizer visualisation nervously waving when I play a song? Maybe it would be nice to get a toggle switch in settings to turn this (and other unwanted/unnessesary visuals) off? When a song is silent in the middle or at the end it keeps moving...So what does it hear, that I don't? It does nothing else, has no value and is stuck there with no purpose.

Hey there @Lanciano007!

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback — we really appreciate it!

Since this is part of the current Desktop design, it’s not possible to disable the wave visualization. Just so you know, it should move along with the song while it’s playing, and stay still if the song is paused.

Sometimes the Spotify app just needs a quick refresh to sort out small glitches, so could you try following these steps and see if it helps?

Let me know how it goes!

Hello Mateus,

Thank you for your reply.

It works how you describe. So no problem with that. What frustrates me is that it doesn't have any purpose/value, and irritates me that it's a monotone useless distracting visual that waves and shakes while the music is slow or silent. Exactly opposite from how a equalizer should work. A wave equalizer should hear the sound and rhythm. It's basicly a childish visual now you'll find in Fisher Price toys. A song starts slowly or even silent (but the wave equalizer shakes nervously irritating me), in the middle or at the end there could be a silent part as part of the song, but that thing keeps moving like human reality doesn't matter and often to keep your child's mind busy. The horrible thing is (like everyone knows) that moving things sre screaming for attention, while it's pointless it gives a negative taste. It distracts me, and because it has no purpose and does opposite from what It 'supposed' to do, it will irritate. There are already multiple ways to see what we are playing without malfunctioning extra's..
