Playlists background color

Playlists background color

Hi everyone, and Happy New Year !

It took me a while to get used to the new Spotify UI on desktop, but I'm actually really liking it now !

When I create a playlist and upload a picture as my playlist cover, it puts a background color, according to the colors of my cover image, behind the name of my playlist.

This is really nice, and I like it, but it doesn't always stays that way !

If I don't listen to a playlist for some time then the background color disappears and it's only the default grey background color.

It's like it couldn't "memorize" more than a certain number of background colors or something, is that normal ?

Thanks !

Hmm @Grazzt I have an idea,

Have you tried toggling hardware acceleration? I don't know the process or hardware Spotify uses to generate the color, but toggling hardware acceleration may help.

It may also help to update graphics/chipset/BIOS updates. If you will send me the model of your computer, if it's a prebuilt or laptop, or if you could send me the specs, I can provide links to these drivers for you.

None of these steps may help, I'm just kinda suggesting everything I can think of lol.

Hi Kaworu, thanks for your help !

Yes I have the hardware acceleration enabled ... maybe I could try to disable it instead and see if it changes something ?

But honnestly I don't want to go into all the trouble of digging into the BIOS or chipset or whatnot just to get a background color to appear on Spotify 😋

Thanks !

@Grazzt

Yeah, I'd recommend disabling it, restarting Spotify, and seeing if it improves.

And I understand. Honestly, I've had some USB issues on my laptop and my OEM support has made me try everything under the sun to fix it lol.

Have a great one!
