My Question or Issue
There are already a lot of threads about this. But this bug is still not fixed yet.
Podcasts always play in reverse order. (new to old)
But i want to hear them from old to new.
I can change the display order. I can also filter out the episodes i already heard. But this doesn't change anything. It still plays in reverse order, and also filtered episodes.
I already reinstalled Spotify twice. It didn't help.
Please fix this.
Yes still working for me. To try and help out I've even tested it by changing to music and back again. When I select a music album the queue automatically clears all of the podcasts and puts the music in normal running order. Then I went back to my podcast and the queue is full of the episodes in order from latest one I'm listening to right down to the last episode. The only other things I've tried in recent times are a clean install and going into the setting icon while on a podcast, then going to Manage "mark as played" and then clearing that entire list. Then manually scrolling through each episode to make it mark as played again. Once you're back to where you're up to maybe clear the queue again, then set filters to unplayed and oldest/newest depending on your preference. Then click on the current episode to play and then hopefully Spotify should order your queue correctly from then onwards. I've attached images as proof this is still working how it should for me.
FOUND THE FIX FOR THIS:
I was getting so frustrated that Spotify kept playing my podcasts in reverse order even when I had the sort/filters set to oldest and unplayed. For example I'd start episode 16 and once that episode had finished it would go onto episode 15 and then 14 etc. Even skipping tracks manually was reversed. Turns out it's the queue (accessible bottom right of now playing screen) that's causing the reverse order. Simple fix is to remove all the tracks from the queue. Will see how long this fix lasts for.
Please for the love of god fix this. It’s 2024 it should not be an issue playing podcast episodes in the correct order. Get**bleep** together Spotify!!
I have been listening to one podcast for a while no, they have over 200 episodes so I am listening in order from beginning to end. Until recently when one podcast ended the next one would play. Now, for some reason, when I finish a podcast, it goes back to the previous episode that I have already listened to. This often happens while I’m driving and can’t do anything about it. Podcasts should play in the order I am listening to them in, or their needs to be an option to set the order one way or the other, one would think moving consecutively would be the most logical way, you don’t pick up a book and read the last chapter first.

My Question or Issue
My queue is always filled with episodes that i have previously listen to and no matter what I try I can't change the order to play the next episode, it always goes backwards. I have tries to remove everything in queue but then it comes even older episodes but not unplayed.
I'm behind the power curve in this issue, but I've finally grown tired of resetting every episode of every Spotify podcast. Before it was simply playing in reverse order. Now it bounces throughout each catalog as if I have random play set. I will listen to a podcast released today, then one from July. What can I do to fix this?
I am now having the same issue, but I am using an iOS phone and connecting it to my car’s audio via Bluetooth. I have checked, and I have the most up-to-date version of the Spotify app on my phone, and the most current version of iOS. This issue originally started up for me a year or two ago, but I was able to get it resolved by restarting my phone, updating my OS, etc. But it’s very frustrating that I have to go through a whole checklist of processes every time the issue pops up again, just to get the playback of my podcast to work correctly. This has only been an issue with podcasts for me. Nothing else. And now the known ‘fixes’ that I have been able to find on Spotify’s website don’t even seem to be working. Any help?

My Question or Issue
I like to listen to playlists while driving. I want to listen to them in the order they were made (oldest to newest). On my phone, no matter what way I sort them they go backwards. So at the end of episode 30, it will play episode 29. Even when I've filtered to only show unplayed and sorted from oldest to newest. It is very annoying when I'm driving because I cannot change it and when I skip back on the car bluetooth control it goes back 15 seconds. Cannot concentrate on skipping back through multiple episodes while driving. So I either need to pull in everytime a new episode starts to change it or listen to something I've already listened to recently.
On my chromebook, I had a different problem. I used to play playlists for my dog to keep her calm while I was out. But on the chromebook it picks a random suggested episode from a completely different podcast after your episode finishes. I had to stop doing this and buy a radio after I went out and left my dog in my mother's house listening to Elyse Myers and came back to it playing a Rotten Mangos episode about some guy who ended up in a **bleep** cult. Awkward! God knows what else it played in between.

My Question or Issue
I'm listening to the podcast "So Supernatural" and I have it ordered from oldest to newest. For some reason, it's playing the episode listed above the previous one when that finishes instead of moving to the one below like it's supposed to. I really haven't changed anything that I know of that could have affected it.
ISSUE:
See the original play list and then after finishing the play in jumps to another program that was already reproduced
you can easily get to see the log of my recordings and allocate the one’s duplicated or replay because miss a flag of “already reproduced”

Just to add a recent update. I use Spotify on an updated android, Samsung s21, and it's almost random what order it picks for the day. Sometimes in goes in the order you expect, sometimes it flips it around. I listen to podcasts and can't rely on Spotify to just go to the next episode at times, so I have to make a queue, but every other day, it decides to go backwards. Doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason. I've had this issue for a couple of years. Updates don't seem to offer a permanent fix 🤷
The queue is not causing the problem, the order of the queue is a symptom of the problem which remains unfixed.
I have been using Spotify for more than 5 years and I only recently started having this problem. I sort the podcast oldest first and filter for unplayed. Then I check the queue to verify that the order is correct. At some point not clear to me exactly when, the order in the queue changes! I have to go to another playlist and then back to my podcast to clear the queue and have it in the correct order again. This seems to happen very frequently and it is quite annoying. In my case I am using Android 15, Spotify 9.0.24.601
STILL NOT FIXED. This is a really lame bug- why would anyone ALWAYS want to play lists backwards. And heck, maybe just play them in the sort-order so that I can change it any time I want by just changing the sort order - that feature works.
It looks to me like they get in queue and the queue is backwards (why?). I can manually clear the queue but I have no faith it'll remain in date-order. Please fix!!!

This is still ongoing and the first reference to this issue was from 2015 - I have this exact issue on the web platform, on the Win10X64 App and iOS. If I want to listen to episode 139 of 186, it will either jump to episode 186 when 139 finishes or just finish ep 139 & play nothing else. Sometimes, it might actually populate the queue, but it will be the current ep139 playing, then next in queue is 138, then 137 & so forth. If I double click on ep163, it will show as Now Playing, and next in queue is either 186 (always the latest episode) or nothing, or it goes 163, 162, 161..... It doesn't matter if you change from newest to oldest or oldest to newest. I have cleared cache, logged in and out, uninstalled, re-installed, it remains the same, there has been the odd occasion, where it actually seemed to work i.e. I am listening to ep139, then when it finishes it starts ep140, but then you go away or listen to something else & it is broken again. The customer support suggestion of just manually clicking on the the next episode I wish to listen to, is not helpful to those wishing to listen to a podcast in series order, when driving, as many do. It appears that only way to make it work consistently in series order, as most people would expect it to work, is to create your own playlist, as an exact copy of the podcast you are listening to, which brings me to my next bugbear, in that there is no means to select more than 1 episode and add it to the playlist, not great when the podcast has several hundred episodes!
