My Question or Issue

Since downloading and using version 1.2.92.148.g882cc571 when changing settings such as library settings, none are saved after logging out. 

I have tried everything. Reinstalling, doing a complete reinstall using your methods of checking all files deleted. Nothing helps. The library settings revert to the default with all showing and by recent. I have tried to change this to playlists by Spotify, arranged alphabetically, but after closing it just reverts back. 

as I have said I have done a complete reinstall using your instructions so please do not tell me to do this again!!

Thanks for reaching out and for letting us know about this.

 

Just to confirm, is this happening only with the Library settings or does it happen with all your profile settings? 

 

Also, the Library settings are getting reset after logging out from your account and then logging back in later? Or are they getting reset by closing the app/shutting down your computer and coming back later without logging out?
 

You can try disabling the Hardware acceleration and restarting the app to see if it makes a change. You can do this by going to the upper left corner menu in the desktop app (as shown in the image below).

Thanks for your reply. It now seems to be working OK, although today, it did take 2 attempts to open the Spotify app on the desktop. 

I have marked below answers to your questions, along with how I seem to have cured the original problem.

No it also resets anything I adjust on the right side bar…. queue etc.

 I don’t tend to log out of my account, but did try it, and after logging back in, all was OK, BUT I didn’t close down the app. But each time I closed the app every thing on the library was reset when I restarted the app.

 

You can try disabling the Hardware acceleration and restarting the app to see if it makes a change. You can do this by going to the upper left corner menu in the desktop app (as shown in the image below).

I tried this, disabling the hardware acceleration, and after closing the app and restarting it, the same thing happened. So I re-enabled the hardware acceleration closed the app, restarted it, and this time the settings remained unchained and have done since then. 
So I now await the next update to see what happens.

Thanks for the reply and all the info provided.

 

To narrow things down, would it be possible to log into the Spotify app on a different Windows machine and see if the same happens there? Consider giving this a go and let us know what app version the other PC is on so we can compare.
