My Question or Issue

I don't have internet access on my pc due to infrastructure works. I want to listen my playlist (already downloaded for offline play) but I can't even open the app. It says something went wrong, try reloading the page. Why I can't listen my music? Do I need internet access for offline play?

Hi there @GorunmezGoril,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

You need to download your playlists on each device you want to be able to listen offline on that specific device.

Can you confirm if you downloaded the playlist on that specific device?

If you did, we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app and then connect your device to another internet connection (if it's possible) and then redownload your playlist/playlists.

On another note. Does this occur on one specific playlist or all of your playlists?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

I have the same problem

I moved house, I have no internet for a week. I cannot hotspot as the computer 1. Only has ethernet 2. Will eat my tiny amount of data.

I have my music downloaded because I can press the play button mapped on my mouse, however I can't choose the playlist or enable shuffle. I want to use my big speaker system that is connected to my computer but I cant.

I have paid for premium for 4+ years so I had insurance I would have music if I lost internet for a bit. Now that it's happened you did not have my back. I can't reinstall or update because I have no internet.

If I take into account how much money I have given Spotify I honestly could have bought all the songs somewhere else, but at this moment I regret it all, I have no songs on my computer, I have no physical media. I have no radio. If I didn't have a fancy mouse I would have had no music for a week save for tinny earphones that get me through the day.

This is a Dev problem, tell the devs that the offline mode does not work.

Hey @ultimatepowaa,

Thanks for reaching on the Community!

From your post it seems like the app actually loads for you without an internet connection, but you are not able to control the Play and Shuffle buttons, is that right? You can try and log out and log in again a couple of times in a row, as that usually helps re-synchronize the app.

It would be very handy if you could also share with us the exact make and model of your platform, plus your Spotify version on the devices in question, and the current operating system you have on. Posting a screenshot or a short recording of this situation might also be helpful for us in giving you a better advice.

Keep us posted, the Community is here to help you out.

1. How could I possibly log in and out of spotify with no internet.

2. Everything is greyed out except for two things, the "something went wrong" and the three dots, If I try to open screen using those three dots then nothing happens.

3. You want the exact make and model on a windows platform??? Ok then. GA-Z77-UD3H with a i5-3570, and a GTX 1070. I don't see how those could do this.

4.

Hey @ultimatepowaa,

Thanks for your rapid response and the additional info!

My bad here - it's possible to log out/in on mobile with no connection, so I misled you on that. It also seems like the Profile button doesn't show up on your screen at all.

Also - wanted to know the exact version of your operating system as well as the one of your Spotify app, to make sure it is not outdated. Anyway, it seems that you are running the latest one.

Could you try restarting your computer to see if that would make a difference for you?

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
