My Question or Issue
If the songs are ordered by length in the playlist, And shuffle is off. And you have multiple songs under the same duration. The Order is shuffled for the songs with the same duration. Sorting seems to be inconsistent between playlist and queue. See attached screenshots:
Hey there @stiaannel,
Welcome to the Community!
If you haven't tried any troubleshooting steps so far, we recommend giving the app a clean reinstall with the steps in this article as it can help resolve different issues with Spotify's performance.
On another note, have you tested with a different account on the same device(s)? It'd be great if you could log into a friend's or a relative's account to see if it's an account-related issue.
Keep us posted 🙂
Hello,
I see this exact same behaviour across my Windows client and macos client across two of my mac devices.
I'll have a look and respond here once I have a chance to cross check with a different account
So I had this tested on my friend's windows client as well.
Same issue occurs there.
As to your comment about performance issues, this doesn't feel like a performance issue at all just a very small inconsistency in the queue order as opposed to the playlist order. I'm assuming it's a case of a few milliseconds here and there that might be jumbling the order.
Hey @stiaannel,
Thanks for you reply.
Your report has been noted, however, we can't give you an ETA for a fix. In the meantime, just make sure to keep your app up to date.
Let us know if there's anything else we can help with.
Just adding that I have this issue as well. The play order works fine in an old Spotify client I have that can't be updated due to an old OS, but for my computers on the current client version, the play order when sorted by duration doesn't play in the same order as displayed in the playlist when there are multiple songs with the same duration.
