Spotify Overlay wont work

My Question or Issue: I often like to use the spotify overlay but for some reason it partially stopped working, the image of the album/song stopped showing and it didn't look good and this happened a few months ago so i asked the spotify discord on how to fix it and someone told me to turn the overlay setting off and then restart spotify and then turn the setting back on when spotify restarted. I did this and it fixed the problem and since the same thing was happening recently I tried it again only now overlay wont show at all even though i am sure the setting is on, so then I tried reinstalling spotify but it still doesn't work. How can I get the overlay to show properly?
