This is a follow up of my previous issue which was closed as fixed, but this behaviour continues to happen - https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Desktop-Spotify-fails-to-launch-with-GIMP-open/idi-p...
The Spotify (store) process fails to start or open while GIMP is open.
Spotify version: 1.1.51.380.ga06fdc8d (Microsoft Store version)
GIMP version: 2.10.22
This has also been discussed over at the GIMP issue tracker https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/4594 where they believe it to be their fault by locking a folder.
I understand this might not be a directly Spotify caused issue, but I wish to re-open it, as it was marked as "fixed" when it wasn't fully resolved
Solved! Go to Solution.
I would like to bring an update, that the team over at GIMP have merged the fix into their build, and as of GIMP version 2.10.24, this problem has been fixed
Solution to anyone new finding this: Update your GIMP to the latest for the fix
Hey there @Katuen,
Thanks for reaching out about this.
Would you mind letting us know if you're still unable to use Spotify if you open it first?
If possible, could you try with a different internet connection and let us know if you spot anything new?
Keep us posted.
If I open Spotify first it functions as normal with GIMP open
Happens regardless of connection state: Tried Ethernet only, WiFi only, both disabled.
Hi again @Katuen,
Thanks for getting back to us.
In this case, we'd suggest you continue doing this, as it looks like the issue is not directly related to the Spotify app.
If anything else comes up, we're always one reply away.
Have a lovely day!
