My Question or Issue
I updated spotify to 1.0.86.337 and came to this error. Spotify appears "Can't play current song" each time I play different song, and about 15' later, the song stop playing but the music bar still running. I can't change song after that and then it hit 30% cpu usage, freeze my computer in short time later. I've tried clean re-install and many other way but the error still there.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The error files indicate an 'apphangb1'. Basically it freezes for some reason.
Spotify's own error (can't play current song) might be caused by audio driver.
Make sure the playback device you're using is marked as default:
1. right-click on speaker icon on Taskbar
2. select 'Playback devices'
3. highlight the device you're using and mark it default. Click OK.
Disable Communications settings:
1. Find the speaker icon on Taskbar again. Right-click on it and select Sounds.
2. In the opened window go to COmmunications and set Windows to do nothing.
Uninstalling / reinstalling audio driver can help. See this Microsoft support article for this and other tricks.
Let me know how it goes 🙂
Hey @hyamal
That's pretty strange!
I'd suggest disabling hardware acceleration in Spotify by going to menu dots - View - Hardware acceleration. This will restart Spotify.
Did you also delete Spotify's %appdata% content or reset the app when reinstalling?
Let me know how it goes! 🙂
I've tried that too, still get the error but I found this report in my local disk, maybe it will help finding solution to this, I guess it's a bug or something.
