Hi @Undiscover,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you send us the make/model, OS version and Spotify version installed on your device? Also, let us know if the issue started after a recent OS/software update.
Lastly, tell us if this happens with the web player.
We'll be looking for your reply.
I use Windows 11, Spotify for Windows 1.1.84.716.gc5f8b819, The issue has been happening for a couple of months and Im not sure what started it or what is causing the malfunction.
It does not happen with the web player or mobile player. I've tried many solutions.
Hey @Undiscover,
Thanks for the update!
Could you try performing a clean reinstall of the app :?
Only make sure to download it from the MS App Store, instead of from our website, if it was initially downloaded from the website.
Let us know how it goes.
We'll be on the lookout for your response!
I've tried all the steps for a clean restart and downloaded it from the microsoft store and nothing seemed to fix the problem Im having with crashing when I log into my account.
I have that same problem with two different computers...
Hey folks!
Thank you for keeping us posted.
Would you mind checking with support if everything is in order with your offline cache on Spotify's end?
If support cannot help you further with this, do let us know.
In any case, we'll be on the lookout for your responses.
Many thanks & cheers!
@hackerock
@Undiscover
I checked with the support and nothing was able to fix it
Hi @Undiscover,
Thank you for your reply. Let's continue to seek why might be causing this together?
you try clearing the files in this location:
C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Spotify\Data
If that doesn't do the trick, can you perform a clean reinstall of the app again while in Windows Safe mode? This will allow you access to some files which are sometimes not accessible.
If the issue persists, can you make sure that Spotify is added as an exception to all Firewall and Antivirus apps?
Let us know how it goes.
Have a great Friday and start of your weekend 🙂
Hi, I have the same problem, in the debug log I find "No task runner for threadId 0". If I try to start Spotify with the computer connection disabled it starts regularly, if I try to start it with the direct connection to a playlist it starts normally, but crashes when I click on the home, the problem therefore seems to be related to the home.
Hey there @0XelfoX0,
Thanks for your post.
Does the app crash if you click on any other menu/ button or is it only the 'Home button'.
Looking forward to your reply.
Only the home button and if i open spotify from direct link which open home.
if i try to open with Windows direct link to playlist no problem found.
Hey @0XelfoX0,
Thanks for posting in the Community and the troubleshooting you've already tried.
Would it be possible for you to prepare screen recordings on how the app crashes when you follow a link to the home page and how the app doesn't crash when you open a direct link to a playlist?
We'd also need the Spotify version you're using.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
I've been trying all the possible solutions:
Spotify desktop keeps crashing... the only solution for me at the moment is to use the Web player (https://open.spotify.com/)
i solve my problem in brutal mode ...
uninstall spotify
open regedit and delete all key/value related
re-install spotify
works like a charm
