Spotify no longer working on Windows 10 after latest update

Hi,

Spotify stopped working right after installing the latest Windows  10 update (January 11, 2022—KB5009543 (OS Builds 19042.1466, 19043.1466, and 19044.1466)) "Cumulative update for Win10 V 20H2 "

I've done multiple clean installs both from the Spotify site and the Windows site and rebooted my PC. Nothing helped.

Symptoms: Spotify will install, but when I click on the icon a blank window frame opens for under a second and disappears. Nothing shows up in Task Manager.

Thanks!

Hi @zev,

Thank you for posting on the Community!

It's odd that your app suddenly stopped opening, but there are some things we can try here to help you with it.

First off, we'd like to confirm that the clean reinstall you performed was following these steps. If you did, can you check if you're able to access and play music through the Web Player

If the issue persists, please try disabling your Firewall and see if you can access the app again.

Let us know how this goes.
