Description
Whenever I try to play a song, spotify will play the equivilant track number from the next album down, and to play the song I want to I have to play the equivilant track number from the preceeding album.
A more detailed description, using numbered steps
1. Tried to play the song I wanted to listen to (e.g. Bohemian Rhapsody on CD1 of the Queen Platinum collection) by double clicking or pressing enter button
2. Song on the next album plays instead (One Vison on CD1 of Live at Wembly Stadium)
3. To get original song to play I have to play the equivilant track number from the preceeding album (track 1 - Intro from Queen Rock Montreal)
What I expected to happen
I expected the song I wanted to play... to play
What actually happened
The song on the next album played (same track number, same CD number, next album down)

I'm getting the same error. Playing other artists and restarting the app doesn't fix it.
Mac OS X 10.8.5
Spotify 0.9.6.81.gd359a796
The song name does not correctly map to the correct track. I tried restarting Spotify, but it seems to be the same. I'm on a band page and trying to play thier top tracks and it plays the incorrect song when I try to click on songs on the list.

Thanks
Some people have reported this as an issue with the most recent desktop client and it has been escalated as an issue.
Does a clean reinstallation of the client make any difference?

Hi @_danny One other user has reported that a clean reinstallation solved this issue. Have either of you given those steps a try?
Hey everyone! I've merged some similar threads here so we can track this is one spot. If you've given the clean reinstallation a go please let us know how that works.
If it's still not working please double check you've posted your device, OS and app version too. Thanks!
Hi,
I have done a clean re-install and that solved the problem!
It's working as expected now.
Thanks!
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
Great--thanks for confirming that for us @mototo
I'm afraid that the clean reinstall does NOT solve the problem. It may appear to on first launch, but sometimes so does simply closing and re-starting the client. I did a clean install and it worked at first, but then the same problem recurred. I'm running Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio Z, and version 0.9.6.81.gd359a796 of the Spotify client. As I mentioned in an earlier post, it seems to me that the fact that it consistently launches the same-numbered track on the next-higher album on the page makes me suspect that an array-pointer identifyin the album is getting incremented incorrectly.
On a different subject, I would like to echo the complaint of a previous contributor that the UI makes it very difficult to submit a bug report other than through this forum. That person seems to have found a way to do it, but I didn't after about 10 minutes of poking through the help/support page. Maybe that is intentional, but it would be helpful if you could explicitly state that the forum is the proper venue for submitting bug reports.
Also, this may seem like a nit, but since you need us to report the version number of the client software, it would sure be nice if you could explose it as plain text that can be copied and pasted into a post. It is simply annoying to have to manually type that long string of characters, not to mention highly prone to typo errors.
Thanks.
Thanks for getting back to us @nventor --we're making sure this info is passed on to the right teams.
I'll also be sure to pass on your feedback, both regarding reporting bugs and the version number within the desktop app.
As soon as I've got an update on the issue of playing incorrect tracks I'll report back to you guys here.
Thanks, Meredith. I'll keep an eye out for the update.
Adding a message here to echo the issues and find this thread later. I'm experiencing this issue with a couple artists, most recently Sky Ferreira.
Spotify Version 0.9.6.81.gd359a796 running on OS X 10.9
I actually just posted this on a different thread because I had found that thread first while searching google, so I am just copy and pasting what I posted there
I was actually able to fix this by deleting the spotify folder in my AppData folder. I am not sure what the repercussions of deleting this folder are or if deleting the entire folder is even necessary. I have a feeling that deleting the cache folder alone would correct this issue but I can't prove it because the problem went away and has not returned since deleting the full spotify folder in AppData.
The steps I took in Windows 8.1 (I would think the steps would be similar for xp,vista,7, and 😎
I followed the procedure suggested by Fives Even of deleting the cache folder, and then went through 6 cycles of launching and quitting the app. It worked normally on the first 4 cycles, but then the problem recurred on the 5th and 6th cycles, so this is not a fix to this intermittent bug.
Same issue here, but not with all artists......cleared the cache and solved the issue for now 🙂
The problem went away when reinstalling Spotify, but came back when reinstalling Equalify, which was kinda weird. Another weird problem is that it was only there for one artist, while for others it was fine. Clearing the cache as explained by Fiveseven fixed the problem.
This completely works, didn't realise spotify was so heavily caching - hope this is being reported as a bug
Clear cache did not solve problem for me, the album have tracks as Swedish and English versions, but it only play the swedish version for the songs now. It used to work.
@jojje72b - Could you post a link to the content you are having issues with?

vs
Sabaton – Ruina imperii - Swedish Version
For me the version played is the same
What country are you in?
The English track is currently showing as only available in these markets:
DK EE FI IS LT LV NO SE
And the Swedish version is available in:
AD BE BG CY EE ES FR GB IE IS LI LT LU LV MC MT NL PT RO SI SK TR
If you are in a country which is not in box 1, but is in box 2 - your client is "relinking" the content in the background to the swedish version since the English one is not currently available to you.
