Spotify won't open after update

My Question or Issue

 I updated yesterday after a computer restart the application opens but the song will not play and I cannot go into any other screens/playlists. If I close the application and try to restart I get an error that the application is not responding.

This seems like it will never work but have you tried reinstalling spotify on your computer then restarting/shutting it down? This works 90% of the time.

I reinstalled and it worked for half the day. After work it stopped and I had to reinstall again. This morning when I got to work it stopped working again. Any ideas on a longer term solution? I get a generic windows popup box that the application isn't responding.
