My Question or Issue

When i launch the program and start a song right away, it will start playing for 2-3 seconds and then i get a loop and second 2-3 are played again, but the song will not start  completely from the beginning, then it plays normally and so do all songs afterwards.

except if i choose another playlist for example and start another song manually, then it will happen again.

but also not always, sometimes it works sometimes not.

never seen this problem before, until i updated the porgram today.

is this a known issue? i couldnt find anything.

thanks

This is so incredibly frustrating, a few friends, myself included, have all been having the exact problem you described.
I even asked them and they agreed, thinking it was just them, but it's all the same issue. Both comforting and infuriating that other people are experiencing this, but of course Spotify won't just take the blame for a janky update-
Reinstalling, clearing cache, nothing works.. I even tried it on a separate PC and found the same issues.. ugh.

The methods that the Spotify team replied with don't work at all, because this is an issue with the newest update. If you're having the same problem as I was, the only way is to "un-update" Spotify. This isn't my video/channel, but a really straightforward working tutorial that I followed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPUFzDes_Eg&ab_channel=NoTextToSpeech

Hey @Fische,

Thanks for the post.

Can you try the troubleshooting steps that @Eni has posted and let us know if that helps?

If not, could you make a video recording of the issue and attach it to your next reply. You can add it as an attachment or as a link to Youtube. This will help us investigate further.

Cheers.

I've had the exact same issue on my Windows 11 Spotify app (downloaded from the MS store). Web Player works completely fine so it's an issue isolated with the Windows app version of Spotify. Looks like we'll have to wait for Spotify to patch the bug

😞

This is happening on my end too. So frustrating

same here! I tried to reset the app. looked like it worked, but now it's back at it again...

Sweet!

Just a quick update - some songs are now repeating the :05 - :06th seconds anywhere from 1 to 3 times. It isn't consistent so I'm having trouble replicating. Glad that it's been passed onto the team. ♥

Adding my observations to the post above:

- yes looping song on repeat single mode will cause the bug repetitively

- I have 2 problematic songs in a playlist but playing it on repeat runs fine as soon as all the songs been played at least once, apparently some loading issue?

- playing song manually by finding it and hitting Play will cause the lag

- seeking back does not cause the lag

Hope those will help to figure out the issue faster

this happens all the time when i'm repeating a song too i really hope it gets fixed soon

Hello, I'm one of spotify user who got this issue too. I wrote my experience before on this thread like 2 days ago. So,  I want to help to answer what troubleshot that I've tried. First of all, I've tried to re-install the spotify from website and from the microsoft store too, but both of them have the same problem. The second, I tried to follow the instruction about safe mode but I can't access my internet. The last one is follow another instruction from moderator with that note but still not worked. I think spotify need to give us an update that fix the problem and I wish this issue will end shortly thanks

My PC version is:

Spotify for Windows
1.1.81.604.gccacfc8c

My laptop version is:

Spotify for Windows

1.1.80.699.gc3dac750

I tried downloading from the Microsoft store and no change.

FIXED: I downloaded an older version (same as my laptop), problem was gone and no more skipping. Pretty safe to say the newest version is the problem.

I have the same issue, glad that work on fixing it is already in progress

win10, free spoty, Ukraine

I noticed that if I repeat song which is on local storage, no matter what - local song will play normally

but with any other songs, which are not downloaded locally and playing from spotify - I have the same issue of repeating as it was mentioned above, repeating start on 5-6s and there is 2-4 repeatings

So, I think if local song haven`t this issue - looks like all is ok on the clients side and a problem exist somewhere around downloading those songs from spoty servers

I hope that info will help to solve issue faster

I updated to 1.1.82.758.g8b7b66c7 and this bug hasn't appeared yet.

Upd.
After a while the same problem reappeared.

Finally, i hope every user that suffering from this problem can solve it somehow

I have the same issue since I update the Spotify back on March 2022

IOS: Windows 10

Version: 1.1.81.604.gccacfc8c

Free

I mainly have an issue where the song repeats starting from 2-6 seconds in and continuously repeat until I managed to stop the music and move it back to 0 second.

Even after reinstalling Spotify in Safe Mode (with networking), it still stutters at the beginning of the song.

Plus, I saw you guys released a version, but it didn't even fix the stutter problem. Why hasn't it been fixed yet even after all the reports of the stuttering?

My Issue:

When I play songs, Spotify sometimes buffers back about 0.5 a second repeatedly, before continuing to play the song normally. I have tested my internet connection, and it is stable at around 30MbPS. This has happened through many versions of Spotify, and I'm currently on the latest version. Please help me troubleshoot this issue

Thanks!!
