Stop Auto-Updating

Stop Auto-Updating

Attention Spotify Administrators –

Not that anyone at Spotify cares what I have to say (that’s obvious) as I have noted this here before.

You have no idea how upset I am.  You did it again.  You updated Spotify and ceased usage of older versions.  Why stop allowing users to run older versions of Spotify?  I understand no more R&D or support for older versions but to eliminate their usage is absolutely absurd.  I can install v1.0.87.491.  It opens briefly before updating to the latest version.  Again, why?

I understand progress but progress should mean moving forward.  You have most certainly moved backwards with your latest update.  I have lost numerous functionality and display options that were available in older versions, particularly v1.0.87.491.

There has to be some way to absolutely halt all future Spotify updates without user approval. Just saying – if it works don’t fix it. . .

Yes, I agree! This makes me so incredibly sad.

If on macOS: click Get Info in Finder, and set Spotify to locked.
