My Question or Issue
In Chrome on Windows i acaccidentally clicked a message to open the Spotify app on load of the Webplayer. Now everytime i click on an open.spotify link the Spotify app opens up. Thats horrible!
I want to only load the webplayer when clicking a link. I dont have found any option to prevent this behaviour, neither in Chrome or in Spotify. So how i can turn this off?
Thanks in advance for your help

Hello,
when the link appeared he fault click on the button cancel for stay on the webplayer.
I hope this solution helps you.
Sorry, but the message to open the App or not, doesnt show anymore. So there is no way to cancel this. The actual behviour is that the Webplayer loads and the App opens.
I have cleared all cookies, all localstorage, cache etc. but nothing stops the App from opening.

Hey there @coredr3,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!
We suggest following the steps mentioned in this thread to sort this out.
Keep us posted on how it goes. We'll be on the lookout.
Hi,
as mentioned in the other thread: DO clear cache and cookies, disconnect from Google account, disable synchronization, synchronize again. Then it stopped redirecting.
But now every time I open a open.spotify link, Chrome shows a pop-up asking me if I want to redirect to the desktop app. I have to press 'cancel' every time. Adding open.spotify.com to the popup blocking list in Chrome has no effect on this.

Hi again @coredr3,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
Just to confirm, did you already try reinstalling Chrome, restarting your device, and trying to disable the pop ups again?
Keep us in the loop.
Hi,
yes I tried but the pop up are still there.

Hey @coredr3,
Thanks for your reply.
It looks like this is expected behavior and the pop up can't be disabled. In this case, we recommend adding your idea to our ideas board. Others can then vote on it or add to the conversation to show their support. You can find the steps to submit a new idea in this Spotify Answer.
You can also read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.
We hope this helps. If you need anything else, we're always a post away.
Cheers!
Unless you vote the suggestion they won't do s*it about it!
It needs to have like 180 +Votes in under 6 months so that they even look at it. Just found it, and had ZERO votes. I added 1, 179 more to go... Link below:
This isn't really helpful tho.
We don't want the pop ups everytime.
Well, it's a config on Windows, so not much can be done from Spotify's side.
But you guys can follow this, to redefine and reset it, and then never click on Ope Spotify App again, Like I'll do from now on hehe (Was having the same issue):
Go to Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps, and then "Redefine"/"Reset"
