Strange bug in the web player

Strange bug in the web player

Just this past week I've noticed when using the web player that songs would randomly skip for a split second from time to time. I checked the developer console and I noticed these messages periodically popping up.  There's six instances of it in the screenshot and if I just let the page sit it'll just keep happening over and over. The music skipping happens basically every time a new error pops up. I've tried 3 different browsers (Chrome, Brave, Firefox) and all of them have the same issue. I've even turned off my extensions and cleared cache/cookies on all of them and the issue persists. Is anyone else getting these? Also I realize I can just switch to the desktop app but the web player is just a personal preference.

Would you mind checking if this happens on other PCs as well? 

 

On another note, could you give another internet connection a go to see if the same happens? You can try creating a hotspot on your phone and using that.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, didn't even expect anyone to respond to this post. I tried checking on an old laptop I haven't used in a couple of years and the same messages did show up. I only tested one browser on the laptop though (Chrome) And I also tried connecting to 2.4g and 5g wifi and they kept appearing. I've also reset and unplugged my router a few times and no luck. It's always the same message no matter what playlist or artist page I'm on. Always seems to be an issue with that specific spoticon font. Edit: After about a half hour using the web player again the stuttering seems to have stopped, although the font error continues to appear. Could have just been a coincidence that both were happening at the same time.

We're glad to hear that the stuttering in the Spotify Web Player has stopped and it works as expected again.


It's possible that this was a temporary error and since it's not happening on the old laptop - it does lead us to believe the issue might be with the newer device.


If this got fixed after some time - it might have been cache or cookies trouble.
