There's no sounds and i cannot reinstall it

Solved!

There's no sounds and i cannot reinstall it

A week ago spotify stopped making sounds for me. Time's moving on and everything but there's no sound. I've tried updating drivers, using different headsets. Wanted to reinstall it but have no idea how to since there's no spotify for me in microsoft store and no spotify in apps thing in windows. Tried using some uninstallers but they cannot locate spotify too. When i try to open spotify installer it says that i already have spotify installed and opens it.

Hey @socallmevenom

Let's see what we can do to fix this.

Typically, when users are having audio issues on Windows, a simple fix is to just reset the Volume Mixer in Windows. I'm not sure what causes this issue, or why resetting the volume mixer fixes it.

In Windows 10/11:

Right-click on the sound icon in your taskbar and select sound settings.

Scroll down to the Volume Mixer option.

On the Volume Mixer page, click the Reset button at the bottom.

If that doesn't help, I usually would provide the Clean Reinstall guide, but since Spotify is not showing up in Windows Settings, that wouldn't work.

You can manually delete Spotify from your device by following these steps:

1. (IMPORTANT--Must follow) Open Spotify, and navigate to File > Exit. This will ensure your system does not try to read anything from the Spotify program folder.

2. Open the Run dialog (Win + R) and type %appdata% --This will open C:\Users\UserFolder\AppData\Roaming

3. Click on the up arrow in the header to navigate to the previous folder

5. Find and delete the SpotifyAB.SpotifyMusic_zpdnekdrzrea0 folder.

Spotify should now no longer be installed on your system.
