My Question or Issue

In one of my playlists, the smart shuffle mode can not turn off. The icon is green and when I click on it, it loads and turns itself back on. I do NOT want the smart shuffle on this playlist, I want it to play in the order as I have it (alphabetical order by the title of the song). This seems not to happen with my other playlists, just this one in particular. What can I do to fix this?

Hey there @vhamilton7,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we’d suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your computer. That way, you can make sure the app is up-to-date and that the stored cache is not leading to this behavior.

If issues persist after that, we’d like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you’re running.
  • Was the affected playlist created by you? Or was it created by someone else?

Additionally, we’d like to add that Smart Shuffle remains the main listening mode for free users on mobile, with the ability to switch between the different playback modes (regular play, Shuffle and Smart Shuffle) being reserved to Premium users. If perhaps this is happening for you on a mobile device as well, keep in mind that’ll be expected.

Keep us in the loop!
