Using desktop app but it changes to web player even with no tabs open

Using desktop app but it changes to web player even with no tabs open

My Question or Issue

I start a playlist in the desktop app, but after a short period it stops playing there, and tells me it's playing in the web app instead even though it is not open or available. It has done this multiple times. When this error happens it also sometimes triggers the 'repeat song' button. 

 

I have: restarted computer, un + re-installed app, changed password.

Thanks for sharing the troubleshooting steps you've already tried.

 

As a first step, we recommend running a clean reinstall of the app by following these specific steps. This is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

 

Also and to make sure your account isn't being used by someone else, we recommend changing your password again. Then, head to your account page, scroll all the way down, and select Sign Out Everywhere. You can find more info here.

If the issue persists, could you let us know if it happens when you use the app on any other device?

 

We'd also like to know the Spotify version you're running.
